SO ON SATURDAY (this saturday, the 10th) YOU ARE ALL VERY CORDIALLY INVITED TO A DAYTIME BARBEQUE AND THEN BIZARRE INDOOR WATER ACTIVITIES AT NIGHTFALL. this will all be taking place in our apartment and outside, but the water activities will be taking place primarily in our living rooms. involved will be a whole lot of food, beer for those of you who drink and other refreshments for those of us who don't, and an inflatable pool. but most importantly, the night time activities will be centering around a slip 'n slide, stretching from our apartment, through the doorway and out into the hall, and then into the boys' apartment. there will be a point system (below), and at the end of the night the winner will either be awarded... some sort of prize, i don't know, or a trip to the emergency room. take notes, here's how to win: MAKING IT THROUGH ONE DOORFRAME: 100 points MAKING IT THROUGH TWO DOORFRAMES: 500 points MAKING IT THROUGH BOTH DOORFRAMES AND MANAGING TO RETRIEVE A BEER IN THE PROCESS: 1000 points OPENING A BEER WHILE YOU SLIDE: 2500 points OPENING A BEER WHILE YOU SLIDE AND NOT SPILLING: 5000 points LOSS OF CLOTHING 3000 points DRAWING BLOOD: 1500 points NEEDING STITCHES: 10,000 points GETTING A CONCUSSION: 25,000 points COMPLETE LOSS OF CONSCIOUSNESS: 50,000 points GENERAL WIPEOUTS: points awarded on a sliding scale CRYING: automatic disqualification and loss of all points i don't care who you are, whether or not we've ever spoken, where you live, or if you have other plans, i expect you to be there with your bathing suits on, maybe helmets if you're smart. if we get really out of control, perhaps we can turn the hallway between apartments into a foam party, but i don't know if i want to get kicked out of this building... i have a feeling we'll be walking on thin ice with the slip 'n slide as it is...
